Hi all,
For several attempts, i did not get to import a dxf file.
I really don't know why kicad 4.0.7 does not want to display my dxf on edges.cuts layer. Very annoying.
Is there someone who can help me.
Thanks in advance ...

I'm not sure if this will help but some dxf imports to pcb software packages require using a polyline to "draw" the board outline.

I found that the DXF importer doesn't work well with curves. What I did
was to clean my DXF file in inkscape:
select the curve -> add new nodes (until you are fine with the
resolution) -> make selected segment lines.
I did that for every curve in my file, so basically the DXF file is made
with only straight lines (some very small).
And please check if you have double lines (on top of each other) in your
DXF file, the DXF importer gets confused and will not import.

Good luck,
Robert

Hi,

From the kicad forum:

open the DXF file in LibreCAD and save it as dxf R12
It can be imported fine in Kicad nightly
the UM
http://docs.kicad-pcb.org/4.0.5/en/pcbnew.html#_creating_a_board

I should add, the model layer, and sublayer 0 appear to be turned off,
but there is data there...
