Hi,
I would like to use Kicad in our company. One requirement I have is
GenCAD output. Kicad has GenCAD output, but I think it has some bugs.
Is there someone who can import GenCAD and view the result ? I'm using
CircuitCAM. I know of another (free) viewer (ProntoView-Markup), but
that doesn't show my main problem : rectangular SMD-pads. They are
wrong, I looked at the source-file and I found the error, I think. I
corrected this and now I have a good result. I would like to have
someone verify if it is indeed good, according to the GenCAD-spec it
should be. Unfortunately, that ProntoView-Markup does not show the real
pads, only a representation, a square dot.
In march I sent a patch to Jean-Pierre Charras but it didn't get
included in the new version. How can I send a patch ? Or do I just send
the whole source-file ?
Another bug I think is arcs in component outlines. In CircuitCAM they
show wrong. I'm looking into it, but I don't know enough C++ and the
structure of the data to be any good.
Regards,
Koenraad Lelong.
